Quanhua Watercolour Art Gallery is situated in Zhujiajiao, a beautiful ancient water town that is known for attracting talents. The gallery building has a history of about 200 years; it was once a residential dwelling in the Qing Dynasty. The building went under a full renovation with its original features being preserved and modern elements added. As a result, the architecture of Quanhua Watercolour Art Gallery alone is a master piece in showcasing the heritage of history and culture; the building itself is an attraction within Zhujiajiao.
With the mission to “Gather outstanding watercolourists, Promote excellent watercolour paintings”, Quanhua Watercolour Art Gallery is not only dedicated to the professional collection and exhibition of modern Chinese watercolours; but also, as the home of the ‘Shanghai Zhujiajiao International Watercolour Biennial Exhibition’, committed to showcasing the best watercolours from all over the world.
Occupying over 1,500 m² floor space with exhibition rooms on 2 levels, Quanhua Watercolour Art Gallery has four sections: Exhibition halls for exquisite watercolours, Watercolour Salon, Tieshan Huang Art Studio, and Xidan Chen Art Studio.
